ick... ok just ugly.. not harmful.

Recently my youngest son wanted to purchase a test tube alien grow kit. They are in the Sears Wish Book....(yeah didn't you know you can grow your own aliens now a days?! hehe) Anyways, he really took the time to read about it. He said to me "Mom i would really have to take care of this because there are good and bad ones..You have to be careful which one you choose. And what you teach it." He really pondered if it was worth his birthday money or not, and if in fact Sears was the only place you could only buy them, as they let on to believe. And fact: Sears is not the only place you can buy them!....the other day in Walmart, down one of the many toy isles, behold the ugly alien guys were there as well. Which brings me back to the ugly part. My Benny seeing the crazy things started about it all over again.

BEN:"Mom i really wish dad would let me buy one of these."
ME: "oh?? did dad say no?"
BEN: ...sigh.. "yeah he said they were to ugly..that they looked like demons"
Me: ...stopping abruptly to stared at Ben ..."really?""he said that?".. me a tad puzzled ..
BEN: "yeah"
Me: "let me see them" ..examining them..."oh they are kinda evilish ugly.."
BEN: "not all of them are as ugly"
Me: " humm yeah some are just creepy ugly"
BEN: "i really wanted to grow one"
Me: "i can see what dad is saying Ben ... but lots of things are creepy ugly"
BEN: stares at me
Me: "well lots of things are human made ugly.. but God made lots of ugly things as well... eesh .. what about that fish with the light on his head ... the one dad showed us the other day?"
BEN: "oh yea, he was mean too mom. And spiders are freaky, in some places there are alot of different ones and if they were as big as a house we would really be scared."
Mom: "Ben spiders aren't big as a house anywhere"
BEN: "i know mom but if they were they would be really scary, we would think they looked like demons"
Mom: (*thinking*...stay on track kid..) "yes i see ... but they are nasty looking without being that big"
BEN: "i am going to talk to Dad again"
Me: "yea i think you should especially if that was the only reason dad had that you couldn't buy it. i think it would be good for you to look into it a bit more.

Later on at home when dad returns from work:

BEN: "dad those test tube aliens are sold at walmart"
Dad: "hum"...walking and greeting his household..
BEN: "Spiders aren't as big as houses... they looked so cool...mom saw them...but they are there.

Me: hearing his opening debate ??? errr, i mean opening the conversation to chat about the ugly de... aliens.... what the heck? huh? Ben ?? you are making no scene??.. shacking my head in quiet confusion....

.....a rush of brotherly voices over throw his....as they all rush downstairs with there father....

He remains upstairs and comes near me....

BEN: "Mom .. i can't remember what i was suppose to say...you know about God and evil and........sigh"
Me: "Ben it wasn't a speech, you were just going to talk about the things God made ugly... that not all ugly things were necessarily bad or evil.

He didn't hear me... he had already left to go find his brotherhood of men downstairs.

hehe well i guess we may never have a grow alien in our house.. lol which is fine.. well we do have molli.. (LOL) .....Just goes to show, not to meddle with the Boyz and the rules of their club. hahaha
Here is a picture of the little devils.. er you know what i ment.. lol the aliens ...hehe

And i really don't care if we can or can't purchase these odd little toy/experiment things. But based on ugly face factor? ..hummm. now really? i would have to agree to disagree. Many little critters are as, or more ugly than these weird aliens, and they live in our own home. Take for instance the pseudo scorpion. Now he is creepy .. especially when your sitting on your throne and you look down and suddenly you realize you aren't sitting there alone. eeeeeSH. He is in fact very useful... as scary as he looks...he is harmless, although he is a predator. But he eats what you don't see and what you really don't want to see... ick .. dust mites and tiny little bugs, although he does eat some bigger ones like the house fly. And take the whole under the sea thing... have you seen some of the creatures down there? Its not all clown fish...thats for sure...common now there are some incredible ugly's down there. (Many in which we eat willingly) *smile* Anyways, there is my weird ugly rant.

Well i best be tending to my uglies around here.. hehe.. i leave you with some very icky pics.

the flea ..so so very ugly.. and they are always thirsty.

...... unless they are very full

These are also not a nice bunch...and you can't see them... The dust mite

ANd finally the predator of the day... but remember he is on your side!
*he is very tiny*

WHATS THAT BUG?
A great link for what you might find creepy crawling in or out of your home.

*smell be gone*

Taken from the Lavilin site:

Lavilin - The Safe Deodorant
As it is aluminum and alcohol free, Lavilin deodorant does not interfere with healthy bodily functions. It treats the problem of perspiration odor at the source - by killing the bacteria which cause perspiration odor, not by clogging pores with harsh chemicals or by masking unpleasant odors with heavy perfumes.

For more information here is there site: Lavilin

i am so completely happy about this very cool find. (Alley your the best) This is the best natural deodorant i have ever used.. its worth the every expensive penny attached to it. (that would be $21.99 from our local health food store) Actually i don't think it is all that expensive. Deodorant up town is about $5.00 which you would use everyday if not twice a day?? Maybe your kind last you months or what have you .. i am just very happy that this is aluminum free and WORKS!! You only use a water drop amount every seven days..so the savings are there. And i am amazed but it is true.. its day 6 and i am smelling .. well nothing.. there is no smell...or rather no stench. haha and you don't even apply after showers.. nope you just wait for day seven then re-apply.

Hey i realize this is an odd post...

well actually the banana guard was much weirder. eesh..

But don't you love stuff that works!! Its good of course for men and women..and is labeled hypo-allergenic.

ps molli slept till 6:00 this morning.. i feel like a new woman!!!!!!*smile*

Jessica, thunder, molli and me

Wow^^ a huge thank you to Jessica..what a walk! i have not been out for these last two weeks...( i have just been to tired in the morning to join my walking buddy. (So sorry Jenny) So when Jess called me today and asked to go ... *yeah do i ever* We just walked the bridges, not really a biggy ??..But always a good one .. ahh Yes but the real biggy was that i took my ms molli and Jess took thunder for me. [[Talk about flash backs on when i first had a baby!! eek ..lol 'Mommy can you please come with me']] It was great. i had a green duffel bag so when my molli was too tired i could carry her ... haha well she didn't walk much. maybe 7 steps? haha 'firsts' so need a good friend to come share the moment with.. hehe Actually i could not have done that by myself... it just seemed to big.. but now i feel a new confidence growing within me.. ms. molli, thunder & myself will be trotting along in the very near future. Alone or if i can just get jolted enough in the morning i hope to once again walk with my bud Jenny. (of course any brave walkin friend in the afternoon is also very welcome *wink*)

NOTE:
Gwen.. i am shocked. wow. You are so sweet. i must come and visit, so as you and ms. molli can be good friends. ps she still piddles inside. But she is learning this is not lady-like behavior.

laundry, puppies, pee breaks, and sleep deprivation

Well last week, November the 4th we got a puppy .. she is now 7 weeks old... After two days of searching for a name, we choose an Irish one. Molli, which means star of the sea. We tried to find a name that meant lightning.. (as we have a thunder- cheesy yes, but funny cheesy) Needless to say we felt each one we found, just wasn't right. So molli it is. She is a golden lab /rottie. Beauty of a dog. Lovely markings.. really golden.. except her toes which are white and she has a whitish crest on her chest and she has a sweet black ring on her tail... cuddly as all get out.. and she loves the boyz, who return the love gladly....until she pees on the floor.......ah yes puppy bliss.......

And now the rest of the story!!!! haha Mercy!!! Last week i was barely functional. i slept maybe 2 hours the first night which wasn't in a row! and the rest of the week wasn't much better...its all a foggy blur.... it didn't help that my family was fighting a nasty head/throat cold, i think that also compounded the tiredness.. Honestly i knew the first week would be rough...poor little girl missing her family and such ....oh it was rough all right. i had her in our downstairs bathroom for the first few nights but she would only sleep for 30mins - 1hr !!! i would take her outside and sure enough she would go pee.....ok great. That is good yes, but then she would only sleep for such a little amount and then she would cry again.. well actually howl....and then everyone would wake... so it was up to this mama to keep her worries away.. by the third night i was crashed on our sons floor downstairs so it was quicker to get to her.. and i took her out each time and she was always very good and went pee....but burn out!!!! ..oh yea.... eesh......oye... i then took her into my sons room with me and she slepted on her blanket next to me. That night we got 2 - 3 hrs in a row!!! ok this pup can hold her bladder she just wants company... i can do company... On Saturday i returned to my room with molli. (OH My sweet bed)... and hello hubby. That was great for the first night... but the second and third night hubby couldn't sleep after molli and i got up for our night break, which is at 3:00am ... so poor husband hasn't had much sleep... needless to say he isn't liking our new puppy.
So last night i went back downstairs with little ms lolli... we slept on the wreck room floor and for the most part it worked out well.. My man didn't wake until his alarm went off ... and molli actually slept till 4:30 ish and then till 6? and then till 8:00 .. haha i am a so tired. But i think we are doing better this week. At least i am out and about and knowing where i am going! .. Plus i am getting caught up with what i didn't do last week... LAUNDRY is one thing that needed desperate getting to. eeek what a state.. for three days i have been working hard at it.. lol if i have enough energy i will finish it off tonight... but more likely it will be tomorrow .....

wow... puppies.

oh but i love my molli. and i think she loves me too.

Remembrance Day ...

REMEMBRANCE DAY

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch, be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields

"In Flanders Fields" was first published in England's "Punch" magazine in December, 1915. Within months, this poem came to symbolize the sacrifices of all who were fighting in the First World War. Today, the poem continues to be a part of Remembrance Day ceremonies in Canada and other countries.

The poem was written by a Canadian - John McCrae, a doctor and teacher, who served in both the South African War and the First World War.

sorry no pictures just yet... but i bring you!!!

ELVIS ELVIS ELVIS.....

we went

we cringed

we hid in our coats (mostly Curtis)

we laughed

we shook (well stan did)

we wished the crazy lady from Stewart would stop being quite so vocal about her desire for Elvis.

we cheered ... most unexpectedly (Curt was the first one to stand and cheer)

what a night.... most memorable... Stan and Curt standing and clapping like maybe that was the best concert ever.

So thankful that a friend with a camera came as well, and will send me Stan and Curts picture with the three Elvis' looking so fine!!

Best by far... Alley coming with me in my mad journey of life.. real life. thanks so much.

the appreciation award .. to my man, who without him i couldn't have taken out my brother, cousin and my best friend and had such a fabulous night.
