gOOd FridAy!!

The head of Wiebeville wanted to go for a hike or rather a walkabout last weekend..so we planned for Sunday .. but alas it was a very dreary day indeed.... (the other wiebetons weren't as disappointed as this one...sigh)

... so Friday being a day off .. we thought we would try again... the weather did look kinda iffy.. but we thought we would pack up anyways... Stan-the-man did not want to go for a walk, or hike, or a walkabout... even though Joan made such nice little take alongs.. so he thought a visit with the folks was more than in order, especially since they were in town for the day...(smile)

i did really enjoy making our little snacks... hehe, the 'first' of a wonderfully long season!!!!(hope hope)
So with the hot water in the thermos' and hot chocolate powder safely in its container..tea in safety bags... everyone accounted for ..and one last trip to the biffy....

we all managed to snug/squish into the ranger. There was some grumbles from a few of our pirates but chewing gum still helps the spirits .. So with fresh breath and squished bodies ..we headed out towards Kleanza...

oh dear dear dear me!! black, grey,??.. very provoked looking clouds surrounded the Copper Mountains ....... oye.. Plan B. Off to the Kitimat highway.. to see how Onion Lake looked... not as many clouds, but when we got there our happiness was quickly dampened. The trail was waist deep in snow. double oye.... ok Plan C. we would go see how Furlong looked.... it would still be a nice walk in to the beach...
...well .... we could walk in... but it was knee deep... So still no walkabout... sigh ... all packed and ready for any sort of adventure, and we are up a snow drift without any snowshoes..... (we did discussed snow shoes as our next winter purchase) Well we were getting a desperate sort of feeling growing in us... so we thought the picnic site was still better than poop island.. opps i mean Ferry Island-which to its defense is thawing at the present. (thawing dog crap- ick) We had decided a tiny bit late - as we drove past - so we were going to turn around at the next available stop..

which was to be to our great delight.... was Grouchy's - open to new adventure lads, lassie, and two very excited dogs!! whOOt whoot!! so finally ... we could go trecking down a path!!
(Confession time: ... and this is an awful confession... this was a first for my family. The Mr, and me the Mrs ... had never...cough cough ... brought our boyz to this particular beach before...sad but true) This felt like it was heaven sent.....There was sunshine streaming through the tree branches, creeks babbling happily, birds singing in a great multitudes ....bridges to cross ... old timber to gaze upon... crazy snow packed paths that would give in knee deep if you ventured ever so slightly off the beaten trail. Rocks for throwing.... beaches for exploring..tree roots to climb... trees to hide in! ... Ha this was wonderful!

This was mollis first experience on the trail and her first with a large body of water.
she was so funny.

Hobbitville Home??

..lets take a closer look?...

is it a hobbit or ... just a wiebe

ahh another hobbit?

going in...

or coming out? molli couldn't find any hobbits.

*we think there might have been a couple of bats up there*
