i've just been spring cleaning with my family inside and outside my house. And working out this head of mine.. (sorting out my lifes valleys and mountains ..lots of emotions where the heart holds it all so close...)

progress on both : i can say there is a positive forward motion.. slow and steady...

the sunshine!!!! the blue skied sunshine.

birds. preferably chickens.. but robins are as great. ...flocks of them .. digging and chirping. filling my yard with wakefulness...

early morning coffee while sitting in the glorious sunshine... oh yes, yes, yes!

evenings that don't start at 4pm. ... ahh.. its still light out, at least till 6! (lol)

the promise of summer. The wonderful melting promises!! ...

the crisp snap of cold versing the spell casting warmth.. & witnessing the wArmth of Spring winning!!!!

Lots of rain lately .. blessed rain.. too warm to snow!! - we got our current png bill. ... we will be taking out a second mortgage to pay it off.

i haven't felt so inspired to blog the last few days... with all that is going on in our world, esp Japan .. mine seemed to small. Life is so fragile.

... sigh... so much to be thankful for. So many Divine interventions .. thank you sweet Jesus... thank you.

i don't know why i didn't take a picture of my scrumptious plate..

it had such gorgeous colour to it.

fresh salsa, quinoa mixed in a kickass bean salad .. and tall glasses of sangria.

it was a not as loud or festive as we girls can kick it..some where missing as busy lives goes.

But i have to say, i love these girls, and it is always good to get together with them.

on to other sort of festivities......

So what is new you may ask?? .. .. well as some of you know i have been taking adult swim lessons twice a week. Which have been extremely painful. (emotionally that is) i am so not even kidding. Quite often if i think about it, my heart starts to race.. and the night before my lesson .. goodness i am a mess. My studmuffin says to me last night, "why don't you just quit. It isn't worth the stress!"

Hey!! that isn't very nice. But then my instructor asked me how i was feeling about the lessons today and i said, "Actually i hate them, i am so completely stressed the night before, that it is all i can do to come each time" She then too asked if maybe i should just come on my own time. (bahahah -translation, 'girlfriend, just quit')

Well i know i have been a nervous wreak .. and i know that it shouldn't make me so sick or so worried that i have physical pains! ((yikes)) And yeah, i know that as an adult i don't have to take or go to any lesson. I'm the adult!!!! goodness!!!! And seriously, if i got thrown in the lake.. i could swim to shore and push the guy in! haha...

BUT, for two years i have wanted to be at the pool taking lessons. Learning to breath and swim.. Not pretend .. nOt hold my breath until i had to tread water or return to the side lines! But actually swim .. maybe even with goggles!.. Oh goodness.. just the thought of putting goggles on sent me into such a panic state last night that i am pretty sure that is the reason hubby for his own sanity suggested the quiting.. hehe. BUT,, i signed up!! i am there!! it is not easy. i am not in a comfortable place. i feel bad that i am not at a happy place, but i want this. i will get this. It might take me weeks and weeks.. maybe months.. but i will stay with this. .. eventually i am going to get this... i will swim with all the right breathing techniques.

So after explaining that even though i didn't 'enjoy' my lessons, i was determined to continue. i was here and i am going to give it all i have until i can swim properly. (Stressed or not!)
It was then that my sweet instructor suggested we might work on strokes and bubbles...instead of kicking&breathing with just the board.

WHO KNEW!!!! "Pepsi, Cola, 7-up" could be so friggen fun?!?!?!?!?! goodness!!! i could cry writing this. What a break through!! i am by no ways good or have achieved greatness, But!!! i actually could make some decent strokes and get some short distances with strokes and blowing air in the water and coming up for air on the side!!!! My instructor said i had a three .. four and then an eleven count. lol But that i was making it work! .. haha

And for the first time of taking lessons... .. i feel so happy and excited.. ... Excited for my next swim lesson! Seriously... truly..really .. i am even more than ok with going again. i am actually looking forward to it. wow! .. .. A very heavy weight has been incredibly lightened. i think i will be taking up my sweet friends on their offers to swim laps with me. i now could go and actually practise with them!!!

Actually i'm thrilled.

This is such a nothing in the big scheme of life .. but it has been bloody hard work emotionally

silly as it may sound or be.. it is still a very very good moment of achievement.

How did it become Mexican Night two weekends in a row??... hehe.

Who's complaining!! .. tonight i have a date with my best buds and their gorgeous daughters.. we are dressing up as fancy senoritas, we will laugh, eat, drink and dance.. life is good.

And then around 11ish.. i leave to join my lovely cousins .. for a surprise bridal shower (whoot whoot) .. and yes .. much more dancing!!!! ....

oye. i just gaver with Jillian and her shred it.. ((she kicked me good))... so i may even be persuaded to have a nap.. or a larger amount of coffee.. .. ((who am i kidding... coooofffee))

And tomorrow? .. more parties of course! .. smile.. but with yet a younger crowd.. .. the soon to be 8 and 2 kind. .. perfect.

i really do love parties. ..especially with those you love. smile.. now to hit the shower ... cus no one needs to start off smelly!!! hehe

Friends & Potluck Dinners

For a year now i have been part of a wonderful group that call themselves - Long Live the Christmas Tree! - Potluckers. Everytime is was able to meet with their once a month potluck, i always felt blessed .. what a great, happy, festive, family-orientated, wacky, crazy, kick-up-your heels, people!

This year instead of the 5'8" Christmas Tree being decorated for each months activity .. there is a lovely fashioned lamp. (made by the one and only MB) Which instead of staying at one members home.. goes from house to house in the group. ((oh goodness what have we done!!lol))

This month we had just a little more theme to it and our lovely hostess planned a Murder Mystery. Mexican style.

But again, our Hostess and Queen Christmas Tree Organizer where amazing!!

We each were given a name and small description of our character before hand and we were more than encouraged to come in costume. lol

The drama was roughly 2hrs. This was really a lot of fun.. and i think for most of us, this was the first murder/dinner we had ever participated in.

And actually this was so much fun that i volunteered for next months potluck.

(which is going to be yet another murder mystery)

Marching in like a lion .. well not quite as the lion as i would like to feel like..

this week has been a bit rough again.. eesh .. what a winter of illness... it seems that if i hear someone has the flu i take it over the phone now... goodness! well actually.. it might have been the dancing for 3hrs..Saturday night... and then sleeping for 4 and .. well.. just having a great time.. not thinking of getting run down sooner than later.. and then being smacked down hard on Monday.. yeah i am pretty sure it was the Monday that i caught... hehe. Nasty ole Monday..

But on to Tuesday .. which is all about the swim for me.. lol

Actually i didn't have a great swim on Tuesday.. and i didn't bother to go today.. with my head stuffed up and my eyes all crunchy feeling, i thought i would spare my kind, patient instructor and of course my lovely inspiring team mate. But not to worry i haven't given up.. or quit!! .. i am just sick.
A sweet girlfriend has offered to swim laps with me for extra bubble time.. and i may take her up on it. As i would like to really have this one this year. Wouldn't that be a thought!! Actually swimming .. really swimming!! breathing and swimming!!! without the pretending!! .. smile... yea i like that 'thought' a whole bunch.

i am thinking of getting this girly swimmers cap.

and sooner or later i need to get myself some goggles,

it just freaks me out a bit - way more than a bit - to think of them on my eyes!

.. sigh.. weird quirky issues i seem to have.

lol .. isn't the cap funny?

well you know i wont be wearing it .. but i do think it would be funny.

#2 save money for travel adventures....

(big money! hehe)

oh goodness.. this should be easy if you can imagine how i dO want us to travel and really see and experience new life adventures!!
(like to Europe! A visit to see my brother is way overdue!! & take the boyz to HAWAII!! - Both on my must do list!!)

but .

But i am a girl with immediate needs! (well some may say impulsive) i see the fix and buy it! My hubby says, i want to dO everything. humm, well maybe?

... so, what is the plan?? .. or rather how am i going to execute this plan?? and how does one determine wants & needs.. living and live without's.. good grief.

i think i best go about it the same way i buy or rather, have bought for Christmas presents in the past.

Make a list of all the who's. .. Break it down into whats and would like to gets.. Look at the amount your hubby wants to keep the budget at... and then replace that with yours. ((LOL))
Then keep that list in mind throughout the year.. so that come December you have only the last minute things, not entire families, (which in my life was not just 5 - smile) This had helped me immensely.

So we have a travel plan for 2012. i have a list of what still needs to be done on this end, which i should rewrite a few more times .. My bro is working on our itinerary and lodging for the adventure. So with our basic living budget in place,, and the monthly savings in the mattress.. we should be ready in a year!! (budget, being the key word) .... i think we have a household budget plan that worked really well a year or so ago... it must be somewhere around here!?! .. where did i put that?? oh dear it may have gotten misplaced in a bin of sorts. BAHAHA..

ok. seriously.

right. getting back on track.

i think Sheldon may have a copy. i suppose if i really want this to happen i'll need to tell him i want that lovely budget back. -ick- i am so excited.

((maybe i will wait until next payday. HAHAHA -jk-))

So on Friday, i finally decide it was indeed time to put away the winter dishes.

i do like to keep them out as long as possible, cus they are fun and festive. But it is a total relief to have them all put away.

Most of us were happy about it.

i realized today that there is only one more day.. and then i am back to swim lessons......

its only a half hour lesson.

nothing a half hour is that long.... .. its just 30 mins. Fast. .. nothing to even stress about.

ever wait outside for a ride? In the cold .. or have to wait 30 mins at an appointment ..
30 mins before you can use the facilities..and you reallllly got to go!

whimper whimper, more like wimp! .. ahhhh the pain & grief of conquering fears .. or or .. BuBBle blowing!

sigh... well at least i still have tomorrow.

Well i went!! i can't say i loved it. i can't even say, i am excited that i will be going twice a week. But i can say, i was there blowing bubbles in the water

kickin my legs and trying not to freak out while i blew those dang bubbles.

Remaining calm wasn't an option

The stress of just going, sent my poor bs up 4 units.. goodness..

But i have signed up and paid for the next 5 weeks.

My day was busy, but sweet. i cleaned my laundry room and rearranged some other places in the house that had been beggin me to help them out.

Sheldon's Ma brought over a beautiful black forest cake.

which made a perfect after school snack for 7 very hungry, thankful, happy people!!(tweens/teens)

i also put 4 lunch containers away for some lucky person(s) the next day.

This board of love was wiped clean in less than a half hour..... goodness.

~on to my sweet heartz suppa~

this may shock a few of you out there..

But yes .. 'it' is what you are thinking. .. And my youngest two think this is the best meat ever!! (who would have guessed!?!) .. lol,, and their friends like it as well.. which is a real bonus for me, cus 'it' be very cheep!! more for everyone!!!

...i promised my mAn that i would make him sweet 'n sour meatballs..

so i followed through with the plan...

but it seemed a good idea to serve a roast as well...

i am thinking about my new Five Year Resolutions..

one) Health - Physically Fit

This is always on my mind.. peaceable or not.

calmly or ... well, full of rage!!

But never the less.. always on my mind.

i feel there has been great moments in my life... real goal achieving moments towards my fitness level and shape shifting on my body .. but it seems i either pettier out .. burn out .. or both which is a complete and total stop.

where does looking gorgeous, ideal weight, smokin hot, physically able, feeling amazing, eating right and within your body/family/place of living,, all get sorted. .. The balance is so tricky. Or is it.

i am learning that although setting ones mind is amazing. .. it has let me down. i have honestly believed that i could will power myself through whatever comes my way. And even with a steady pattern of burn out.. i still think (thought!) i could buckle down .. muster up all the determination and self control, and i would win .. sigh.. the only problem is once in that mind set .. i do not want to leave room for any set backs.. anything resembling slacking. Especially anything to slow me down... which has always been for the most part sickness. Diabetes to be more specific.

This last month working out with my husband in our home has been really inspiring. He knows, if not as much .. more than i do about diabetes... (he is just that kind of a supportive, informative caring guy) So if i am too tired.. or more than any other reason.. my sugar levels are high ..
i don't have to worry what he is thinking of me not working out that day... no.. no worries about him..

Not working out because my blood is too full of sugar........... makes me the very opposite of calm. ... needless to say... it is a full on battle.

i had a rough two weeks in January. And just when we had a good thing going, routines were being set, people were moving and we were feeling the strength that comes with working hard for good things. Then i got sick. ..and the first two days i understood and i stood. But it didn't take long before it was all i could do to just stand in what i knew to be true. i really had to be on my game .. or i would sink fast. Depression must be the opposite of achievement.. But again, no pressure from my newest workout buddy. He took care of me. We watched lots of inspiring TV shows.. and had lots of encouraging thoughts on what we will be doing.. and how much stronger we would be getting and how good it was for me to rest while my body fought the sickness... how thankful he was that i was making healthy food choices for our family to eat. And always lifting me up in prayer. ... nice guy huh.
All i could think about, is how it sucks to not be in control (even if that is an illusion at the best of times).. and how a batch of cookies would cure everything... which .. smile.. i did nOt bake. (thank you Jesus) ... i have choices and decisions that can slow my progress down considerably .. and then i have choice about what it is i will choose to do next .. Keep on keeping, and just waiting .... its in those waiting times i think about the length of my time. And it is never long enough.
God knows the hour and day...i do not. i am ok with that (when all healthy and strong-haha).. but yeah, i usually fail that testing/waiting to-get-well time, at some point. (within two dayz!!) lol.. i am full of moans to Him. and moments of ..other. But i feel He can handle it. And He can.

i did recover. smile.. and me and my man got right back to it. i love that we are working hard toward life changing goals.. There are limits in a day. And it isn't going to be this next week that i see the results i want. Not even in several !!!!! .. But ..
It will be 'A' next week. i love that my man has a loooooong term goal.. one that we will benefit from for the rest of our lives. Good Lord willing.

Hey that is pretty good.. i just smiled with passionate warmth.

Tuesday.. well the day started the same... with coffee.. hehe

There is always the weekday schedules .. home stuff, all the drop offs & pick ups, the shopping, appointments and such. ..lol,, All the stuff i can't think up when people ask me what i have been up to! But today i think i got a new groove going for a few more Tuesdays to come.. it just works out i need to be uptown and the timing is perfect to meet up with my Ma for her break... smile.. i love my visits with her and lately our schedules haven't allowed it.. so even though its short.. i am pleased we get a few moments together. And maybe with my sister too!!

sometimes i can't live without them .. and other times it pains me that we have so many.. i think simple is good.. but we can't always have that.. Busy - can be productive.. but very tiring if one isn't a little careful.. Yeah it's always that on going balance act. Or lack of .. haha.
i suppose it's the finding of a balance .. living it .. and adjusting as you need to.

with that, .. i got a steamin' mug and plans to watch a biggest looser episode with my man.

Macho Monday,,

Started with waking up feeling good. That was before coffee.. after COFFEE i felt Macho Strong!!
We had a good whip out for a Monday morning!! wtg wiebez!!
And i must say the day went by pretty smoothly too .. . It is so good to have a body feeling as good as the mind.. (only one tiny headache and no advil needed - hehe) Even the evening was a gooder!!

hiccups to the day, which can deflate some of a very good day..
.. ..feeling for friends with real health issues.. Issues that baffle or aren't curable .. the ones that you know only Gods grace can fix.... and sometimes the fix isn't what the loved ones want and sometimes the fight is so great and the body so tired... and true too, sometimes the victory is so amazing, so complete, so God. ...sigh.. knowing believing fearing faithing leaving giving hoping .....resting ... and many many tearing all in between.

Its a cold Monday night.. but i have warm arms to snuggle into .. .. and my arms can snuggle him right back.... i am very thankful.

Soothing Sunday...

.. being prepared somewhat for the Monday sure helps sooth away the unfriendlys..

.. getting back to basics .. family.. food .. health.. God. Hearing encouraging ministry. .. soothing for the soul.

Having all my lovelys (my boyz) home tonight.. very soothing, especially for my soon to be sleep.

Looking forward and feeling somewhat rested, is for sure a calm feeling on this Sunday night.

Freshly showered, mug of hot lemon water... in this moment, i feel pleasantly happy.

(of course don't let me kid you .. there is always a calm before a storm.. hehe)

short Saturdays..
the shorter is not always the better.. Saturdays are a day that could be a real day of 'whatever'.. pick a place, a want, .. a get out and about..go for visits, get some coffee dates on, clean house, projects!!! lists.. whoot whoot !! let that train whistle blow!!! (that is me - smile,, rootin for my family to follow!!) or ...

Or rather nothing to get at, or no one to see and definitely nothing to go to ...kinda day.
A day in pj's .. coffee.. tv.. books.. mellow minds mellower bodies. (that's me sick)

Our day started mellow.. we slept in (a first in weeks) but i woke with a nasty headache that wouldn't let up.. arrg,, i was just beginning to think my gels weren't going to help me AND finally they kicked in.. And then, so did we ... ((smile)) and it got pretty busy!! .. we did go out and have some mini lunch with a special cousin in town.. we did run down Ferry Island with our kidz and actually run for 20minutes!!! ... we did drop off some cookies to a potluck.. (although there was NO getting my family in to visit or partake!).. but we dId drop by at a close friends and had an impromptu coffee visit, while our boyz built Lego worlds .. and now.. we are about to venture out yet again and have a supper date! .. wow. Go wiebes go!! goodness.. musta been a bit of a record breaker for us.. lol.

And with all that ... it seems like it was rather a short day!

freakin friday

well i want to tell all about the nasty freaky Friday special!! but i have been warned that i will be banished if i do. Not that banishment is so bad.. but being its not about me .. i suppose i wont tell.

It's freakin cold out.... lol
i have had two freakin headaches in the last two days ... but nothing my extra strength gels won't fix.. so thats not that special.. haha.
i have freaked out slightly about my vision as of late.. but again i don't think its that bad.. i just usually have exceptionally great eyesight, and it has been off a wee bit. .. humm headaches eyesight.. i may have something here.. lol.

i am currently freakin happy about future developments.. health wise with this family. And extremely happy about future trips.. one in particular.

and i am just sooo glad today is Friday with or without all its freakiness!!!!!

ah.. just kidding.. today was really quite good.. sun came out after a long week of very dark cold rain... meet up with two coffee dates.. (girlfriends rock) .. had a good lunch with my middle son.. baked my youngest his favorite monster cookies.. (the basketball team loved them!)..
worked out with my handsome hubby..(Jillian is very good) and now i am going to cozy down and read a bit before bed....
the only turdy thing was out on my front yard.. oh the joys of washing away the snow.. ick.

i am wondering when all the rain will cease .. (the word 'cease' actually took me a few moments.. lol) do i like rain more than snow.. or snow more than rain.. i think i really like Hawaii.

i am wondering if my extra weight will vanish just like the extremely large people on Biggest Loser each week... .... sigh..

wondering if my truck lights are the reason my night vision seems to be lacking entirely.. or is it my eyes..

wondering if carb counting ever gets easy??

should i just bring in my wedding rings and get them sized.. or .. wait. longer.

i am trying out three new recipes tonight. Two Marinates and a lovely Greek potato recipe. i will even take pictures. (cus personally pictures are the bomb,, well to me anyway)

A girlfriend started yoga with Bob, so i barged in.. hehe... And i am loving it!!! Yoga with Bob Harper may just be my new love!!! lol

Who knew i would love it as much as i am. The names of the moves are all new to me, the moves.. not so much,, i remember many of those positions or very similar moves from the good ole workouts with F&F.

Ahh,, it feels so dang good to be working this body again.

Here's hoping 2011 be the year that doesn't burn out!! (smile) .. Here's to this moment and many forward.

....after a day at Rupert.. i was getting a little too sleepy .. so we pulled off so i could get a little rest in. (and use the lou)
These are pictures my son took while waiting when i was napping and then our little walkabout. Some of these pics i am sharing, are with a true "grin and bare it" attitude.. (eesh the waking up ones especially - blah) .. but because i think his picture skills are very notable, and they really captured our little outing. ..i thought i would post our 'stop by'.. and i must say, he made it very memorable..

on another note Malachi is a wonderful gentleman.. his love for me and the kindness he gives me often amaze and move me deeply. i love you my son.

Canada Day .. 2009

it was it was..

slept in.. which was nice.. nothing going down for us in the morning.. nice.

i may of had a wee melt down .. the kitchen was dirty and i needed to make muffins and get a cooler packed for an outing to Red Sands .. and Malley was playing with the Pipes & Drums and everyone wanted PC time.. umm.. so i may have raised a little cane.
i did hear rumors that i was over tired.. but i blame the dirty kitchen the most... it couldn't have been finishing a book off till 3am! no way. .. shh i don't want to talk about it.. hehe.

My hubby brought our drummer up to the Heritage Park for the festivities there.. sounds like it was a really nice time. (next year i will get there)

We packed up our truck as full as she would let us..LOL 4 bikes, coolers, water jugs, wood and a dog haha,, Then we had to push start my old truck into gear.. (can't you just see my full truck with Ben Mal & Me behind it pushing us out of the driveway!! -starters dead) and we headed out north. Bound for Red Sand...We had an awesome time with eating and chatting and singing, playing soccer .. soccer ball saving from the river.. biking around many trails.. tall tales and coffee slurping .. passing smores .. smacking mesquites, spraying 'Off' upon us, laughing, almost dipping in ..ha making plans for a weekend trip and just enjoying the quiet of the great out doors...smile..

sigh..it was very very very nice ..

just a side note. one muffin was eaten. In hindsight.. there was absolutely no reason to be stressed.

now its showers and night snacks (haha guess whats on the menu - muffin anyone) .. a bit of movies .. maybe some corner gas.. and then off to bed.

two more days and my drummer is off to camp for two very long weeks.. wow.
Who wound up the forward on time??. .. hold on to each moment.. cus it sure does look a lot like a blur....

Our class just loves field trips.. haha.. but 'truth' we do!! we do!!!

Ben's grade 5 class had a wonderful teacher full of incredible spunk .. so we had a few field trips this year.. hehe smile...

We left Terrace at a very early 6Am on a Wednesday morning..(with a very large cup of timmys) and drove straight into Houston..(LOL actually we stopped so often i was beginning to fear we'd not make it for the awaiting bus) Many bathroom breaks.. until we could coordinate our untimely deed to be timed together! And then there was the very fast stop to the shoulder, so one member could empty his car sick tummy. (only two people that i know can be sick and say, "well that feels much better, is there anything i can eat?"- gag gag) Then we jumped onto a bus and rode for another 2hrs .. up up up .. awesome .. so many bears i lost count.

upon arrival i spotted a someone i knew.. hehe so i took a picture of him to prove to his wife he works hard.. smile... (this was in the cafeteria)

On to adventures.. i haven't a clue how to discribe what all these machines do.. but it was stinky, extremely loud..and very interesting.

Coming back to the cafeteria so the two groups could fuel up and then switch directions.

((i spotted the man again.. still hard at work i see.. lol. Aren't i a meanie))

the actual size of these big boys was really incredible.

We got to take home as much rock as we could carry.. very cool. This was very fun to take part in and watch. HAHA the boys all wanted the BIGGEST rocks.. But in the end it was our Teacher who managed to get the biggest one...smile.

Our group of students were awesome. It really was a joy to be part of this experience with them.

These girls were just outside the kitchen. You opened a door while you were in the kitchen and it lead into the coop. It was set up so well .. need an egg .. no problem .. just a quick look in the closet.. haha... i loved it! Of course the lovely fresh ceder sawdust made it all look and smell so appealing - might not be so nice if the cedar chips weren't fresh each day, and if i was the one who was always freshin it!!

the stove was huge.. i still think i would be a very happy wife with that ole girl.

This was outside of the same house.. which lead to a nice fenced yard for the milking cow (or for me .. goats) all of the fort was so fun.. i wanted blue prints!!

.. time for some trapping.. er spearing .. er get em some fur for trading.

We then went to the tradin store and the students had to tell what kind of animal they had trapped and when (was it last fall winter spring??).. the trading lady was watchful of any dirt or tear...and she wanted the trappers to really barder with her .. a lot of fun. Everyone received at least one or two candies.. and a couple made such a good stories they received three.. hehe it was super fun.

A few sports to end our day of fun and history lessons...

Absolutely a wonderful experience.. the Fort was really well set up .. the people were friendly and made the time very enjoyable.

and then my batteries died.

We left after we ate our packed lunches and drove all the way .. straight way .. with one gas stop .. three bathroom breaks.. many 'nibs' (thank you Steven P) and very loud music... (smile).. HOME.
Because you know.. this was only Thursday.. and we still had one more field trip to go.. bahhaah
